The Aurora Museum is located in an Aurora landmark: Church Street School, a fine building erected in 1886 as the Aurora Public School. The museum is operated by the Aurora Historical Society. The Aurora Museum is currently closed to the public due to extensive construction work involved to renovate the interior of the building. Upon re-opening as the new Aurora Heritage Centre, it will incorporate: the Aurora Museum, caring for and sharing with the community the artifacts, documents, and stories of Aurora’s past expanded research facilities spaces appropriate for a wide range of complementary uses welcoming meeting spaces
